When I first started working in investing, I found it intimidating. The jargon was new, the textbooks were dull and everyone seemed to speak with confidence that made me suspicious. I quickly realised that I had been taught how to earn money, but not really how to manage or grow it.

Fast forward nearly a decade, I’ve now spent my career in asset management and hedge funds. I’ve been part of teams that invest billions of pounds and invested my own savings. These have taught me what textbooks just can’t teach you about how investing feels.

Incoming started because my friends - smart, capable people - asked me to teach them. I drew up a short course and began hosting sessions on my sofa. To this day, I meet so many people who want to learn, but don’t feel “smart enough” to join the conversation, and many that are just not sure where to start. So it’s time to share.

The truth is investing is a life skill, not an exclusive club. I teach the way I wish I’d been able to learn: intuitively, authentically and in a way that fits into real life. To me, it isn’t just about the numbers; it’s about a shift in mindset and embracing uncertainty, so you can create a better life for yourself and others.

Investing has already changed my life, giving me the freedom to take a break and travel the world. For me, money is simply a means to an end. It allows me to do the things I love: cooking, traveling and hanging out with friends. Still trying to stand up on a surfboard.
